Job Summary
Maintain a safe, secure and orderly environment for the customers, visitors and employees.
Job Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
- Detect, observe and report suspicious persons or activities to management or designee. Keeping the area clear of unauthorized visitors. Direct employees and public to the appropriate locations in response to questions or emergencies.
- Patrol premises, being observant for potential criminal behavior or disruptive individuals that might prey upon the bank, its employees or customers. Where applicable, inspect the ATM’s and doors for skimming devices.
- Make pre-opening inspection of bank branch’s interior spaces and turn on all lights and power prior to allowing employees access to the branch. In addition, make pre-closing security inspection of the building and is responsible for signaling the alarm company upon opening and closing.
- Document accidents or other unusual events and report same to management or designee.
- Ensure the customers’ safety & security while within and in close vicinity to the branch especially the elderly. In addition, remove any abandoned forms from the public areas that may contain customer and/or bank information.
- Maintain supply of forms on writing desk and ensure proper display of month, day and year posting.
- Respond to customer’s questions and direct them to the appropriate bank employee.
- Receive guidance with respect to general objectives; in the majority of tasks and projects assigned, determine methods, work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments; operate within specific policy guidelines.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must have or be able to obtain a New York State Security Guard License.
- Must be able to walk (patrol) and observe areas within and close to the area to be protected.
- Prior experience as a Security Guard preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedule (different shifts) as required
