Duties
- You will make sure employees, visitors and contractors are properly cleared and possess proper security badges when accessing the base.
- You will protect property, materials, equipment and information form danger of terrorism, sabotage, espionage, intrusion and criminal acts.
- You will detect and observes any unusual or abnormal conditions, assesses the situation and relay that information to the quarterdeck by, radio and or telephone.
- You will relay messages and dispatches personnel and equipment to meet routine and emergency situations.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling personnel access by verifying identification; 2) Patrolling buildings or perimeters for suspicious activity; and 3) Enforcing security measures required to protect personnel, materials, and property.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The duties of this position require occasional arduous physical exertion and or duties of a hazardous nature. The following medical requirements apply to all applicants: good near and distant vision, ability to distinguish basic colors and the ability to hear the conversational voice. Protective clothing must be used when needed. Exposure to high noise levels and encounters with armed and dangerous personnel may occur. Additionally, the work requires regular and recurring moderate physical exertion such as long periods of standing, as well as short periods of running, bending, stooping, and reaching, lifting or carrying items weighing in excess of 40 pounds. Employees engage in such exertions when on patrol, responding to alarms or medical emergencies.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is conducted primarily in office buildings and outside the exterior of the Naval War College (NWC) facilities where the incumbent may be required to maneuver through rough terrain in poor lighting, in adverse and inclement weather while conducting security roves.
